Cycling in the Sauerland

Whether on a road bike, e-bike or mountain bike - the land of a thousand mountains offers all bike fans numerous routes through beautiful nature. Ride at your own pace - leisurely and decelerating or with power and one or two crisp climbs.

The holiday region Eslohe and the Schmallenberger Sauerland can be explored ideally on small or big tours. We will be happy to give you tips on which routes are particularly beautiful to cycle.

On the way on old railway lines

SauerlandRadring

The SauerlandRadring runs directly through Reiste and is the ideal cycle route for young and old, for fast cyclists and leisurely nature lovers to explore the region. Most of the 84 km long route leads along old railway lines and through beautiful nature around the towns of Finnentrop, Eslohe, Schmallenberg and Lennestadt. A special highlight: the almost 700 m long bat tunnel between Finnentrop-Fehrenbracht and Eslohe-Kückelheim, which is open from the beginning of April to the end of October.

The Sauerland on an e-bike

Around Eslohe and Schmallenberg, 11 e-bike rental stations provide you with the right bike for your tour - for adults and children aged 14 and over. Particularly practical: With the Schmallenberg SauerlandCard you can rent e-bikes at a much lower price. Depending on the use, one battery charge is enough for about 60 - 100 km of riding fun. On the way you have the possibility to recharge your e-bikes at many restaurants and huts during your break.

The guest information in Schmallenberg also has special mountain e-bikes available, which are particularly suitable for tours on forest service roads and gravel tracks. Before you rent the bikes, they will be explained to you in detail and the best route tips with maps are of course included.

Safety first: Please always remember your bike helmets, as these are often not available for hire from local rental companies.

Are you looking for a suitable e-bike rental? We will be happy to recommend a rental shop nearby to our guests.
